Triangle West Transportation Planning Organization (Triangle West TPO) provides GIS and mapping resources to support transportation planning, data analysis, visualization, and public access to regional information.
These resources are supported by an enterprise GIS environment and include web-based mapping applications, data services, and GIS tools used to support planning, coordination, and decision-making.
Triangle West TPO uses Esri GIS platforms to manage, analyze, and share transportation-related spatial information.
Triangle West TPO uses ArcGIS Enterprise (version 11.5) as its primary GIS platform.
ArcGIS Enterprise supports:
- Centralized data management
- Hosting of web maps, feature layers, and services
- Internal and public-facing GIS applications
- Integration with planning and modeling workflows
GIS resources are managed and delivered through this environment to ensure consistency, security, and reliability.
ArcGIS Pro (version 3.5) is the primary desktop GIS application used by Triangle West TPO.
ArcGIS Pro supports:
- Map creation and cartographic production
- Spatial analysis and geoprocessing
- Data editing and management
- Integration with ArcGIS Enterprise
All current GIS workflows are based on ArcGIS Pro.
Triangle West TPO maintains access to ArcGIS Online for limited purposes, including:
- Collaboration with partner agencies
- Access to externally shared GIS content
- Participation in regional or statewide initiatives
ArcGIS Online is not used as the primary system for data management or application hosting.
Older Esri desktop applications, including ArcMap, ArcCatalog, and ArcToolbox, have been retired and are no longer used for current workflows.
Public users can access selected GIS resources through Triangle West TPO web maps and applications.
These resources provide access to transportation data, plans, and studies in an interactive format.
