To support transportation planning in the Triangle region and enhance the Triangle Regional Model (TRM), the Household Travel Surveys (HTS) have been conducted biennially since 2018. Prior to that, household travel surveys were completed in 1995, 2006, and 2016. Data collection was delayed in 2020 due to COVID-19 and resumed in spring 2021, followed by subsequent rounds in 2023 and 2025. In addition, a Transit On-Board Survey was conducted in 2023.
