Walking and bicycling are important modes of travel in our region. As many of the region’s population uses walking, bicycling, and other modes of non-motorized transportation for economic, environmental, and health-related reasons, it is vital that safe, accessible, equitable, and connected routes and facilities be established and maintained. The Triangle West Transportation Planning Organization (Triangle West TPO) coordinates bicycle and pedestrian planning efforts with its member agencies, NCDOT, local communities, and neighboring partners to support walking and bicycling as viable modes of transportation in the greater triangle region.
