Title VI Plan
The Title VI Program Plan, commonly referred to as the Title VI Plan, is produced to ensure compliance with the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The Title VI Plan with guidance provided by the North Carolina Department of Transportation's Office of Civil Rights. The Title VI Plan includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Assurances and Policies
- Staffing and Organization
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Related Plans
- Environmental Justice Report
- Language Access Plan for Limited English Proficiency
- Public Participation Plan
- Procedures
- External Discrimination Complaint Procedures
- Compliance and Enforcement
- Training
The draft 2026 Title VI Plan is available for public comments from March 25th , 2026 to April 24th, 2026.
The TPO previously adopted the Title VI Non-Discrimination Plan in 2016.
Discrimination Complaint/Grievance
It is the policy of the Triangle West Transportation Planning Organization (Triangle West TPO) to ensure that no person shall be excluded from participation in any TPO activity on the grounds of race, color, sex, age, national origin, language proficiency, or disability. If you believe that you have been discriminated against by the Triangle West TPO, please complete and return the Complaint Form below, and/or contact the person listed below. Americans with Disabilities Act Transition Plan
The Americans with Disabilities Act Transition Plan or ADA Transition Plan is adopted to:
- Identify accessibility issues in the Triangle region
- Identify ways the TPO and partners can be successful in ensuring accessibility
- Set goals for improving access to transportation and TPO planning processes
The ADA Transition Plan was adopted by the Triangle West TPO Board on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025.
Language Action Plan
The Language Access Plan is adopted to:
- Expand language access, especially to those who speak Spanish and Chinese, and expand access to those who require braille and American Sign Language for communication
- Identify training opportunities for Triangle West TPO staff
- Establish improved procedures for increasing language access
The Language Access Plan was adopted by the Triangle West TPO Board on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025.
