Job Access Reverse Commute (JARC) Grant

The Job Access Reverse Commute grant program was intended to fund the development and maintenance of transportation services designed to transport welfare recipients and eligible low-income individuals to and from jobs and activities related to their employment. The JARC program was repealed by FTA in 2012 and incorporated into FTA’s 5307 grant program. The Triangle West projects in-progress and will continue to administer the funds until all grant funds are exhausted.

All grant projects and recipients must meet the requirements in the JARC and New Freedom Program Management Plan.

New Freedom Grant

The New Freedom grant program was designed to improve public transportation services and alternatives to public transportation for individuals with disabilities. The grant supported projects that went beyond those required by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). The New Freedom grant program was repealed by FTA in 2012 and incorporated into FTA’s 5310 grant program. The Triangle West TPO has New Freedom projects in-progress and will continue to administer the funds until all grant funds are exhausted.
